Finding Your Own Donors

Many initiatives begin their lives in rental accommodation and a key step is the purchase of property on which the school can be established. We offer the following suggestions regarding ways the Education for Social Renewal Foundation may be able to assist you in these crucial steps.

  1. SEEKING OUT LOCAL DONORS - donors within, or connected in some way to your community (these might be individuals or businesses), may have an immediate interest in your project because they understand the value of Rudolf Steiner education and see your initiative as part of a broader community development in your location or region. In this case the monetary or property gifts made to the Education for Social Renewal Foundation can be specifically directed towards your initiative as long as they meet the criteria.

  2. PRESENTING A VISION - you should project forward to a time when the initiative might grow into a school with classes to Class 6, or even to Year 12 - and thus the need to purchase a suitable property upon which to grow.

  3. TAX DEDUCTIBILITY - donors or their accountants should be familiar with the advantages of making tax deductible donations. The funds operated by Archeus Social Ltd have DGR status (Deductible Gift Recipient) which means that donations to your initiative made through our funds are considered tax deductible gifts. Receipts will be issued to be presented to the Australian Taxation Office.

  4. QUALITY AND EQUITY - these relate to the underlying aims of the Education for Social Renewal Foundation. The kind of property and buildings you are able to obtain or create relate to the quality of public amenity you wish to provide (School and College Building Fund). An aspect of this amenity is the question of equity - an education which is as accessible as possible to young people (Scholarship Fund).

  5. FOUNDING A RUDOLF STEINER PLAYGROUP/KINDERGARTEN/SCHOOL - help is possible from those who have already gone through this process. For suggestions on starting a Rudolf Steiner play group click here. Suggestions on founding a Rudolf Steiner (Waldorf) school can be found here.
